The International Federation of Combat Sports and Fitness (IFSF) and the Cuban School Tai Yoza Ryu (EC-TYR) have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening international relations, expanding martial arts and sports activities, and creating new opportunities for institutional cooperation between the two organizations.
The agreement was signed on September 7, 2026, by Dr. Hossein Parhizkari, President and Founder of the International Federation of Combat Sports and Fitness (IFSF), and Dr. HC. Luis Armando Palacios Suarez, President of the World Directive of the Cuban School Tai Yoza Ryu and Founding Master.
Under the agreement, both organizations recognize each other’s degrees and martial arts ranks and agree to establish closer institutional relations, including the recognition and granting of honorary membership to relevant directors and officials of the respective organizations. Members affiliated with both IFSF and EC-TYR are also expected to respect the ethical codes and statutes of both martial arts organizations and to follow the directions of their respective representatives and managers.
A key part of the cooperation framework is the organization of courses, seminars, workshops, technical examinations, national and international tournaments, scientific events, lectures, training camps, and face-to-face professional development programs.
According to the agreement, such activities may be organized in Cuba, Canada, and other countries, in accordance with the objectives of cooperation and representation established by the two organizations.
The agreement also provides for mutual use of the organizations’ official logos, emblems, and identifying marks at their respective headquarters and on certificates issued in connection with their joint activities. Both parties further agree to promote their joint and individual activities through social media, websites, and other media outlets, while respecting the identity of each organization.
At the same time, both organizations will maintain their independence and internal self-management, while establishing close and systematic communication and exchange to support the effective implementation of the agreement.
The agreement becomes effective upon signature and will remain valid for five years, with the possibility of automatic renewal for additional five-year periods unless either party states otherwise.
The International Federation of Combat Sports and Fitness (IFSF) considers this agreement an important step toward strengthening sports diplomacy, expanding international cooperation, and creating new opportunities for knowledge exchange, education, professional development, and martial arts and sports activities among organizations active in these fields.
